Inspired by Spacecraft.
The original inspiration for the R6 Habitat stemmed from spacecraft landing on the moon. In order to meet the requirements of 1) minimal site work, 2) small footprint, 3) ability to be moved, and 4) quick setup GO'C Studio presented a design that included four feet with a non-traditional foundation and anchoring system. The result was custom exoskeleton and leveling jacks made from steel.
The R6 Habitat is offloaded from a flatbed truck, positioned via a crane and dropped into place. The utilities are connected through a single insulated entry shaft underneath the R6 Habitat. The shaft is water and animal-proof.
Whether the location is level, slopped or on a hill the leveling jacks can be individually adjusted to the contour of the terrain. In the event the location is in a remote setting without road access the R6 Habitat is designed to be flown in via a transport helicopter.
A Home Away From Home.
The R6 Habitat includes all of the functionality found in a traditional home. Smart systems such as integrated solar, electricity inverter, battery backup, recycled water shower, and incinerator toilet ensure the R6 Habitat is environmentally sustainable.
